Ctrl+C doesn’t work intermittently in Outlook reading pane

Version: Outlook 2410 Build 16.0.18129.20200 64-bit

1. Ctrl+C in reading pane, could work at 1st try, but followings will paste same content, it just doesn’t copy new things. Or even 1st try doesn’t work.. it seems randomly and intermittently.
2. Right click and select Copy, this way always work in reading pane.
3. If editing email, no matter reply or forward, Ctrl+C works..

Have tried quick repair, safe mode, new a mail profile, but still no luck…. has any one experienced same here?

I get the same (no reading pane copy with Ctrl+C in classic Outlook).

It could be:

When you select text in a classic Outlook email and then use the copy shortcut Ctrl+C, or use Ctrl with other keys, for example the ESC key, Outlook may hang or freeze. When the hang occurs the Ctrl+C copy action also fails.

… but it’s not fixed for me in Version 2501 Build 18429.20044.

New Outlook handles Ctrl+C correctly in the reading pane though.

OMG! The 1st workaround using old IME has fixed the issue for me! Thanks a lot for sharing this article.  I didn’t notice too much hang or freezing actually, it mainly appeared as not copying,  but after reverting IME back to previous one, I tested ctrl+c multi times in different emails and they all got copied.

I also tried 2nd workaround, but what it did just check update and told me i’m using latest version, it’s not reverting back to old one.. not sure if something i did wrong, or maybe limited by organization policy..
