I am thinking of moving to the XP version to solve the ‘corruption by intereference with Frontpage 2002’ problem.

Does Access XP produce files that can be read by 2000? What kind of hassles am I looking at?

By default, Access2002 creates database files that are Access2000 compatible. That is, you can read/write to them using Access2000. You have to specifically tell Access2002 to write the files in Access2002 format.

Provided you don’t use any of the new features, you shouldn’t have too much of a problem. Depending on the situation, you might have to make changes in your references. And from my past experience between Access97 and 2000, sometimes ActiveX controls need to be reselected.
