creating image files (2002 SP3)

I’m rather novice at using Powerpoint, so I apologize if this question is too basic for this forum, but I really could use the help.

I need to create a website based on a pre-recorded online seminar that used Powerpoint. For the website, I’d rather not use Powerpoint. I want to create image files from the slides, and put the transcribed text next to each slide. The problem is that when I reduce the images in Dreamweaver to 330 pixels (I could go a little larger, but really I’d like to get them down to 300), the text breaks up. Is there a better way to do this? I’ve tried saving the slides as gif, jpg, and png, but they all present the same problem.

A long, long, long time ago, I found that the way to get the best quality, for this sort of thing, was to “grab” each screen during a slideshow. Doing this allows you to take advantage of the “anti-aliasing” (smooth) of the fonts. = Better Quality.

To grab a screen just press “the print screen” key on your keyboard (PrtSc), to grab one screen at a time, then paste it into a graphics app (photoshop, et al)

I’m sure a utility such as snagit would greatly speed up the process.

If you just export bitmaps, from powerpoint, then there is no smoothing of the fonts. You could however, try another avenue, of export really big bitmaps, and then reduce them down to 300 pixels, that may also help to keep the quality.

Thanks, Taj. It sounded like such a great idea that I tried it right away. It didn’t give the quality I was looking for, however. So then I followed the link in your post and that led me to http://www.irfanview.com, where I downloaded a free batch conversion tool. I saved the presentation as a bunch of jpegs and then ran the converter which did a fantastic job. Thanks for the lead!
