I’m trying to create a double horizontal navigation menu on a website to look and behave the same way as the navbars in a vBulletin forum. With vBulletin when you click on the top horizontal navbar it changes the subnavbar options. No hover.

Here’s the vBulletin test site http://www.daisybrown.com/cyberala/testforum/forum.php and here’s the website I’m building http://daisybrown.com/cyberala/wp/?page_id=4.

I’m far from a pro when it comes to navigation. The main website is build with WordPress. The navigation is contained within a header.php file. I suppose I could create different templates/headers for each of the seven top menu options, but I’d sure like to avoid that for simplicity. I’ve searched but haven’t found something helpful yet via googling.

      Hello,
As you say you are not a pro when it comes to navigation. I would recommend you AllWebMenus and it also has wp addin. I use this tool and i am well satisfied with my results 🙂
      Hope it helps you also

I haven’t used WordPress yet but the way to do it from WebPlus is to put each second-level menu on its own “panel” triggered by click or hover (at your option for each panel) over the parent button in the main menu. For instance see the home page of http://derryhortsoc.org.uk and click the Features button.
