I’m trying to add a hyperlink to a web site in the textbox in publisher. Doesn’t work–has something changed with a service pack. I know I’ve done this in the past. It won’t add the link or give me the ability to change the display text. What am I missing?
    Thanks…Carol

      Hi carol

I have never used Publisher for making a webpage but I have managed to get the hyperlink to work by opening any template I highlighted a few words and then clicked ‘Insert’ and then ‘Hyperlink’ and type in the address of woodts main page, when I then selected ‘File’ and ‘Web Page Preview’ when the dummy web page showed I clicked my link and it did as expected, i tried it with pictures, headers, icons etc. and it hyperlinked wherever I wanted it to go.

      HTH

      Cheers

Not using Publ to make a web page—just linking to a web site in a textbox in Publisher. For some reason, publisher won’t let me make the link. I’ll attach a screen shot of the dialog box when inserting a hyperlink.
When I click OK, the link is not added to the text box nor can I change the text display for the link.

          Hi Carol

          This is what help says

          1. In your Web browser, browse to the Web page that you want to link to.
          2. Select the URL of the Web page, and then press CTRL+C to copy it.
          3. In Publisher, select either text or a picture.
          4. On the Standard toolbar, click Insert Hyperlink . (theglobe on the toolbar)
          5. Under Link to, click Existing File or Web Page.
6, Click in the Address box, and then press CTRL+V to paste the URL

On my PC I have to hold CTRL and click the hyperlink to use it (but that is propably because of some setting or other on my PC)

What Steve said about holding CTRL and then clicking on the hyperlink holds true with me too.
So you might think it is not working…….but try it and see what happens..
