Hi,
When I am trying to connect an XP machine to my WinNT domain, I get a message that says “Please wait while domain list is created”
Sometimes just patience sees the message disappear, but today it wont.
Any suggestions?

Patch reliability is unclear. Unless you have an immediate, pressing need to install a specific patch, don't do it. |

I’m afraid I cannot find that message anywhere in TechNet.
Do you have a lot of domains on your NT network? Have you any flaky machines which might be browsers or the Master Browser (or maybe the PDC?). Does this happen at other XP workstations? Other than that, I have no real ideas.

Here’s a reply I saw in another forum:
“Make sure DNS is set up properly on the network. All servers and
workstations should specify *only* the internal/AD-integrated DNS server’s
IP address in their network settings. The internal/AD-integrated DNS server
should be set up with forwarders to your ISP’s DNS servers for external
resolution and/or use root hints.”
Here’s another from a different forum:
“We used to see this with an old NT4 domain when joining workstations with Netdom. Removing the machine from the domain and re-adding it will fix the problem. Something in your LSAPolicy or an unknown location in the registry is corrupt…”
