AskWoody LoungerJuly 11, 2001 at 11:51 am #532619Create the table in Excel (or paste it from Word).
Select the cells you want to modify.
Select Format/Cells on the menu bar. In the Format Cells box, select the Alignment tab. In the Orientation section, click on the position you want in the right-most window or specify the Degrees wanted in the bottom window.
Use the other tabs to set the way you want the cells to look.
I hope this helps.

AskWoody LoungerJuly 11, 2001 at 4:14 pm #532661Kit, to get the table from Excel into Word, do the following:
Highlight the cells in Excel that you want to copy. Select Edit/Copy.
In Word, place the Insertion Point where you want the table to go. Select Edit/Paste Special. Choose Paste As Microsoft Excel Worksheet Object.
The table should copy correctly.
You can edit the table while in Word by right-clicking on the table an selecting Worksheet Object/Edit.

AskWoody LoungerJuly 11, 2001 at 6:57 pm #532691Chuck…..I was able to get the “object” into word and it came the proper way however, the lines on the box are not slanted as the words are…..that is the final problem…
I have looked through excel and looked through word and can’t find out how to do it….perhaps it can be done in PowerPoint…..but I thank you very much for your diligence and hopefully I’ll be able to answer a question for you one day……to you!!

AskWoody LoungerJuly 12, 2001 at 11:44 am #532785Kit, I’ve created an Excel and Word file (in the zip’d attachment) that illustrates what you have to copy to get the table lines into Word.
To slant the lines in Excel, after you select the Alignment Orientation for the header cells, go to the Border tab and select the Outline and Inside buttons.
Ain’t this fun???

AskWoody LoungerJuly 10, 2001 at 7:02 pm #532559If you highlight the header row in the Table, then go to the View menu and click on Toolbars|Tables and Borders, you will get a small tool bar with an upper and lower row. On the lower row, click on the button about 7 buttons over and it will cycle you through various alignments. The Button has an A in the upper left corner(?) and a bunch of lines under it with arrow points at the ends of them. If you wish to move this around then the 4th button over on the same toolbar section will give you positioning capabilities.
