What is the best way to creat pdf files? Word’s help system does not recognize it so I assume, that unlike other programs, Word cannot creat pdf files itself. I ghear there are free prgrams that do this. Which is best? Do any integrate in to Word as addins? Thanks!

There are many such programs available, some (most?) of which have been discussed in the lounge at one time or another. For example, take a look at the thread starting at post 201844.

Of the “free” programs, CutePDF Writer appears to be one of the few that doesn’t watermark your file (i.e., trial version banner) or pop up ads. For more information see the thread starting with post 342301. I haven’t tried it myself.

We have been using pdf995 for a few years at home now, and we’re very happy with it.
Star-Office offers you the option of converting a document to pdf format, but I’ve seen some very mixed results, especially with tables, where the pagination gets messed up.

      Hope this helps,
