    Just developed this problem today. Whenever I try to save in Word or Excel 97, I get the error message “WINWORD(or EXCEL) caused an invalid page fault in module at 0000:66f20ee8” I can’t save anything. Also happens when the program tries to auto save. I am in Win98. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling and still doesn’t work.
    Thanks

      I’ve this – rarely I’m glad to say! – on various docs.

      There seems to be some error in the doc that causes it. I’ve got round it by:

      a) Set the cursor at the very beginning of the doc and try a save;

      or

      Select all your text, copy to the clipboard and paste into a new doc;

      or

      c) Copy all the text to the clipboard, paste into a plain text editor and save as a text (.txt) file. That strips out everything that Word puts in. Open text file in Word and reformat.

        Thanks for the response, but I don’t think that is the problem. I have the problem on on every document and also just closing Word. I can open, close and save all documents on my computer with no problem using another computer in the office via our network.

          Check destination folder for your AutoSave files (Tools | Options | File Locations) This folder can be corrupt or has not enough space. Change destination folder and see what’s happen.

    You can use BBCodes to format your content.
    Your account can't use all available BBCodes, they will be stripped before saving.
