I build a PC with retail boxed Intel E4500 Duo Core with stock fan.

The room temperature is about 18C. Asus PC Probe II shows the CPU temperature of 41C at 1081RPM when PC is idle. The mobo temperature is 50C. However, the CPU temperature will shoot to 71C when I run the Skype with outbound video.

Is it normal? should I replace the stock fan?

That is seriously hot fire burnup fire

According to this article you are just about within spec, but I would recommend installing a more efficient cooler.

        Hi Stuart,

After reading your reply, I knew there must be something wrong in my PC. I open the case and found the CPU cooling fan was not installed properly. One of the four fixture legs of cooling fan was not inserted into the mobo. Yes, it was my mistake.

CPU temperature went down to 22C on idling. It seems fine now. Thank you for your help.
