I suspect I have a corrupt font. In some Windows programs such as Wordpad and Paint some dialogue boxes or menu items the text appears corrupted. There might be a couple of normal characters followed by either squares or other strange characters. How can I tell which font may be corrupted or do I just replace them all. And how do I reinstall just the fonts from the CD.

First you need to know what font it is and where you got it. Windows installs some, but most come from your prgrams including, Office, graphic editors, and etc.

Open one of the files and check for the name and then post the name here. We may be able to help.

If the problem only occurs in Windows XP programs isn’t it a font installed by Windows?

No, all fonts are usable by all programs. That said, some programs like WordPerfect and Print Shop will hide their fonts in their folders and can NOT be used by other programs.
