Is there any easy way to copy subtotaled data to another worksheet? After subtotaling and choosing level 2, I copy the list and paste it to another worksheet;however, it brings over everything. Any suggestions?

After selecting the list, point to Edit | GoTo…, select the “Visible Cells Only” option, then click OK. Now, you will copy and paste only the visible cells.

If you carry out this operation on a regular basis, it could be worth your while to include 2 command buttons on your toolbar.

Go to Tools, Customize, select the Commands tab and the Edit category. Scroll down to the bottom of the commands available and you should find two buttons, one to select the Current Region and another to Select Visible Cells (see attached). Drag them both to your toolbar. The next time you need to copy a filtered list just select a cell in the list, click the Select Current Region button and then click the Select Visible Cells. You can then copy your selection which will just contain the visible cells from your filtered list.

        Stephen:

Following on from Andrew’s post, if you prefer keyboard shortcuts, CTRL+* (or CTRL+SHIFT+8) will Select Current Region and ALT+; will Select Visible Cells in the current selection.
