I would like to be able to copy a Personal Distribution list so that I may give it to a colleague who is taking over an area of work. Can this be done with Outlook98?

      Ormond,

As far as I know, there is no direct way to copy P.D.Lists, but there is a trick:
Send a test-mail to all the list members, including the colleague. Explane in this mail that the receiver can delete this mail.
You colleague opens de mail and selects all names from the header. With [Ctrl][C] (it will copy the information).
Then he/she creates a new P.D.list and in the screen where he/she selects the names from the list he/she clicks in the right panel and with [Ctrl][V] pastes all names in the panel.
By pressing the [OK] button the list is created.
      Goodluck

Thank you, Sir – an ingenious trick. I will give it a try!

As siflaar mentioned, you’re pretty limited with Personal Distribution Lists. You may also want to check out http://www.slipstick.com/contacts/dl.htm
for some info on working around Outlook 98’s limitations with Personal Address Book DLs.
