If I use the ‘classic’ start menu I have no problem getting to the Control Panel.
When I switch to the Vista menu, I receive the following error message: “No mapping between account names and security IDs was done.” I also receive this message when right-clicking on My Computer on the desktop.
Microsoft Article No 890737 mentions this problem and a hotfix for XP Professional. Ironically, I did not have this problem with XP.
The Microsoft web site does not list this error for Vista.
Does anyone know a workaround?
I’m logging into a Samba based domain.
