Contacts not Visible (2003 SP1)

I have imported contacts from a .csv file into outlook on a new machine. If I click the “Contacts” button, all of my contacts show up, however, when I try to address a message, my contacts are not being searched and the do not show up in the “Show names from the:” list.

I have tried to find the answer to this one, but can not. Can someone point out the errors of my ways

Replies

Right-click Contacts.
Select Properties from the popup menu.
Activate the Outlook Address Book tab.
Make sure that “Show this folder as an e-mail Address Book” is ticked.

Here is an image of my Outlook Address Book tab. Everything is grayed out. I searched through all of the tabs and could not activate this form so that I could select the check box at the bottom of the form. Any other ideas on where I may have messed this up?

Select Tools | Email Accounts…
Click “View or change existing directories or address books”.
Click Next >.
Does the list contain Outlook Address Book?

If not, click Add…
Select Additional Address Books
Click Next>
Select Outlook Address Book
Click Next >
When done, close the dialogs.
Quit and restart Outlook

If Outlook Address Book was already in the list, click Remove.
Close the dialogs.
Quit and restart Outlook.
Use the steps above to add Outlook Address Book again.

So, why did I have to do this process this time when I have used Outlook 2003 on a couple other machines and this step was not required?
