We just found this at a client site. I don’t know if it is restricted to Access2010.
If the computer has the HP Protect Tools Management Suite installed (whether or not enabled), then something in Access can cause a problem where Access becomes non-responsive and starts gobbling-up more and more memory (you can watch the memory use grow in Task Manager). We were never able to pin-down the problem; it might have had something to do with opening recordsets. It was a new client that had a previous Access database that worked with no problems; but that was a very simplistic database whereas ours is considerably more complex (basically a user-created database vs a developer-created database). Once we uninstalled the HP Tools, it worked find.
