Last week we finished migrating the last of several hundred users from Novell GroupWise to Microsoft Outlook. And now all the fun questions are really starting!

Is there any way, either through a setting or programmatically, to prompt the user to confirm a send after he or she clicks on the Send button? In GroupWise, you could set it to prompt you to add a signature, thereby stopping the entire send process until you respond to the prompt. One cautious user wants to have a similar prompt to allow for some decisionmaking before the message just leaves. Don’t ask why he can’t do that before clicking Send (because I don’t have an answer to that question!).

    Thanks for any help!

I find that having spelling checked when I click the Send button usually provides plenty of opportunity to cancel the send. smile

With some work under the covers, you can create VBA code that runs whenever a message is sent. To access the built-in help file’s code example, open the VB Editor from Outlook (Alt+F11), press F2 to call up the Object Browser, search for ItemSend, highlight the method and press F1.
