confirm delete message??? (word 97, sr2)

I have been working in word for a long time and encountered something today that I don’t know the answer to.

I have a user and when she selects (highlight) a word and presses the delete key – she gets a confirm delete message. Where did this come from and how to I turn it off?

Does the message say Delete Block? If so, the setting under Tools > Options> General > Navigation keys for WordPerfect users is checked.

Uncheck the infernal “Help for WordPerfect Users” in Tools>Options>General.
