    I would like to shade every other row similar to old style computer printouts. I haven’t thought of an easy to get this accomplished. I’d be grateful for any suggestions.

      See Andrew’s macro here. If this doesn’t help, come back and ask.

      An alternative or in addition to the suggestions, try this conditional format:

      =MOD(ROW(),2)=1

      and set the format pattern to a color of your choice.

        Thanks Kevin,

        That’s the more along the lines of my original thinking. It’s nice to have both ways to do it.

            I’m sorry, I wasn’t clear; what I meant to as was where in the worksheet itself do you put the formula-i. e., cell A1?
            Thanks,
            Jeff

              Every cell in the range to be formatted that way. No big deal, select the target area, and enter the conditional format formula applicable to the upper left cell of the selected range.

        THIS IS SO COOL! This should go into Tip & Trick type places all over. Maybe it is, but I haven’t run across it before. fanfare Thank you!
