Hi I am trying to format a simple column of say 1 to 10 when I try to conditional format the highest number I use Max so that no 10 changes to red, but no matter what i try the whole column turns red.

I am in my dotage but it thought this would be simple.

Can you post the formula you are using ?
My guess is that you have some unwanted $ signs but is is only a guess.

      Braddy,

      amend your formula to:

      =A1=MAX($A$1:$A$10)

      41337-CF

        Hi Maudibe

Thanks for that, I don’t want to impose but is there a way to show the lowest and the highest in the same column

      Np,
Create a second rule and use the min formula

If your column range could contain blanks or text, then MINA(range) might be a better function to find the smallest numeric value.

Good thought Martin but I don’t think the MIN function would be affected but blanks or text where MINA is. Apologies if I am wrong.
