Conditional Filters (Excel 2000)

I have created a list of items I would like people to select from. If the person checks off the box for Yes, I would like it to display. If the box is blank for No, I would like to hide the row. I would also like to turn this filter off and on.

Does anyone have an idea on how to do this?

In reply to your PS in the file, that you can’t delete the checkbox, it would appear that there are multiple checkboxes. There are also other cells which seem to contain multiple checkboxes, and they seem to have a darker border around one edge which may help you identify them (rows 14, 20, and 37 all have this problem).

In addition to Bretts comments, you must filter on column N since that it where your values of True/False are in.

PS, some of the boxes are linked to the wrong cells, when you click them multiple cells are checked.

Could you please tell me if there a way to copy the boxes down to each cell and have the format control cell link change as you copy the boxes to each cell.
I also would also like to prevent the category headings from disappearing on the sort, by using a true box, but can’t figure out how to make then white to disappear.

You can not do it by copying it. You can copy and change it them manually or copy and then write a macro to change them all.

If you only goal is for the filtering, why use the check box? Why not just use column A directly and add something in the cell to show or clear the cell for hide. Then you can just filter on non-blanks.

If you add them in Col A, you can set the text to white to hide them or use custom formatting:
format – cells- number(tab) – Custom
