    Hi

My problem is that all of a sudden when my PC hasn’t been used for about 30 minutes and I try to use it a dialogue box comes up saying the computer is locked. It has my log in name and then I need to enter a password. After trying a number of passwords it didn’t recognise any of them. Luckily I discovered I could leave out the password and just click OK and it unlocked.
I don’t remember ever setting the PC up to lock and my screen saver doesn’t have a password on it.

Is there a way to get rid of this. It only starting doing it 2 days ago

    Any help would be appreciated

If your system is using “Stand by”, then by default you need the passwaor of the user account that is logged in. You will find this setting in the “Power” of the Control Panel.

Or are you sure some one did NOT change the screen setting for you?

You are a champion, yes I think one of my kids (we always blame them don’t we) must have been playing in the power section, because the checkbox was marked for using a password when resuming from standby mode.

        Thanks again
