I have an XY chart I’d like to add a vertical and a horizontal line at the mean of each series. I can get a horizontal line on the chart. The scale isn’t quite right because it doesn’t go all the way across the chart. However, I’m stumped at how to get the vertical line on. I have a lot of these charts to do, so I need to be able to use the charting tools and not draw lines on the chart.

Finally, I’d like to add labels to each with the labels A – N, not the values. I vaguely remember having an add-in that did this, but can’t find the reference to it.

    Thanks for your help.

The add-in is Rob Bovey’s XY Chart Labeler.

You mention “a vertical and a horizontal line at the mean of each series” – do you mean (pun) the mean of the x-values and the mean of the y-values? You can do this by defining extra series.
To make the lines go all the way across the chart, you have to set the minimum and maximum values of the axes instead of leaving it to Excel.

See the attached workbook. (I haven’t added data labels)

This is exactly what I need. As always, you rock! Thanks.
