Clean reinstall XP Pro (XP Pro SR1)

My original PC OS was XP Home. I later purchased and installed the XP Pro upgrade. Due to some non XP-compatible software installs in the past and other problems, I would like to format my HD and do a clean install of XP pro (I’ve read that the XP CDs have some sort of clean install option). However, since I only have the upgrade version of XP Pro, does anyone know if I have to install my original XP Home version first? Tips, warnings, advice appreciated. Thanks!

I believe that you should be able to a ‘clean’ re-install and format of the upgrade version of Win XP Pro over an existing XP Pro installation. Be aware that you will lose everything on that drive so be sure to backup your files before you start. See Post: 189239. Good luck!
