You can use the DOS command FDISK which will wipe out everything and requrie reformatting. Type FDISK/? at the DOS prompt for more info. Make sure you are ready to lose everything on that drive, because it will be empty!

FDisk will do what you want, but it wil. kill EVERYTHING!!! Unfortunately, some viruses won’t go away unless you use a removal tool. So, you can either use a romovel tool,, then boot to dos with a norton or macafee disk and get rid of the viruses of just kill the partition with fdisk. Again, beware, fdisk will delete EVErYTHING.. so make sure you backup.

      USE:

      c:>fdisk c: (or d: or e:)

      option 4 deletes

      option 1 creates

      Good luck

Does it mean that some virus will survive even fdisk/mbr is executed?

The data in this used hard disk is not a concern. I just need to make sure there is no virus in this HD before installing it in my PC.

No, if you fdisk the HD and the MBR, all viruses will; go away,..,.
