    Hi,

This question is about icons used in Cisco Networks.

It seems the Cisco icons do not differentiate between many of their own hardware types. E.g. the 5500 and 5505 switches use the same icon.

So what if we NEED to distinguish between them, where can we get a FREE icon set?

    Help! Ta.

(Edited by HansV to make URL clickable – see Help 19)

It’s pretty simple to *make* shapes for your own template, and sometimes it’s quicker than finding exactly what you want.

Start by opening a new stencil and dragging in a shape that’s close to what you want – let’s say the Cisco 5500 switch shape – then make whatever changes you need. (Right-click the shape and select Edit Master.) For example, change the custom properties to show that it is a 5505 switch and not a 5500.

Believe it or not, Visio has pretty good help on creating shapes and templates, if you can get inside its tiny mind and figure out how to ask the right questions. smile The part they don’t tell you enough about is the ShapeSheet, where you set a lot of the behaviours for the shape. While you have the shape master open for editing, do Window > Show ShapeSheet to see it.
I found a lot of helpful material on this at http://www.wanderkind.com/visio/2006/09/sh…d-of-visio.html%5B/url%5D.

      HTH!
