For those who wish to retain a local OS as well as doing a lot of things in the Cloud, dual-booting with a Chromium derivative for Cloud Apps and Linux for local apps might be just the ticket. The common element might be the google Chrome Browser, which could be used for both sides of the dual-boot. And by dual-boot, I should include using Chrome OS as a Virtual Machine inside of a Linux OS. This combination could be a real paradigm-shifter.
