    Hello,
I have a file that I created once, which contains some charts in Chartsheets. Everything was ok until yesterday, when I opened the file, only to find the weirdest behaviour I have ever seen in Excel: the charts were all greyed out (like when the background was brought to front), but when I clicked on the chart itself, then it appeared. It is very strange, and I can hardly explain what happens, so I rather attach a small sample of it. It’s just a file with one chart where you can follow the behaviour.
Could anybody give me an idea of what could have happened here? Did the file get corrupted maybe?
I tried clicking on the chart and Bring to front, tried various other things, but nothing seemed to help.
It is pretty urgent that I get this file up and running as I have to update it for some clients that are waiting for it.

Thanks a lot for any help, hint…
    K.
P.S. The Excel/Office version that I am working with is 97, under Windows 98.

Under Tools, Options, under OPtions, there’s an option to Show All, Show Placeholders, or Hide all. If Show Placeholders is selected, that will explain what’s happening exactly. Select Show All.

        Thanks a lot, it worked.
I was almost to give up, I considered the file corrupted.
        Today I learned another thing.

        Thanks again.

          Excellent.

You can start sticking back some of that pulled-out hair now.
