I would like to change the sounds when the computer boots up Windows Me to another .WAV FILE, but I cannot change the SETUP0.WAV file in C:windowsoptionscab folder. Can’t find the program that says “use this file” to open Windows. Any help appreciated.

      At a guess:
Start | Settings | Control Panel | Sounds and Multimedia

It is indeed. Scroll down to ‘Start Windows’, click to see current sound. You can browse through your files to select another sound – even a whole song, though having tried that, I wouldn’t recommend it!
