I have a user that says he has changed his keyboard keys in the past (although he doesn’t know what version of Windows he was using). He said that he would go into Control Panel and click on the Keyboard option. There would be a picture of two keyboards and he could reassign a key to a different function. He wants to change the + key on the Number keypad to an Enter. Anyone know how to do this?

    Thanks,
    Becky

Seems likely that this user had additional or special software installed on the computer to be able to remap keys. So far as I know, this cannot be done natively within Windows on a granular level like this. But the good news? There is a ton of software around to help achieve this. Take a look!

You can also try The Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator. (It requires Microsoft .NET Framework to be installed.)

After asking (several times), I found out that it is a feature that is available in the accounting software that we use. He found the setting in there, and he’s now all happy.

Thanks for the useful links, though!
