Does anyone know how to change file dates and times (created, changed, etc.)? A third party tool would be fine. I have UltraEdit32 but that only changes the contents of a file, not of a folder. I remember years ago that you could do this in a FAT file system with Norton Utilities, but I can’t find anything to do it in NTFS.

Patch reliability is unclear. Unless you have an immediate, pressing need to install a specific patch, don't do it. |

AskWoody MVPMarch 29, 2005 at 8:07 pm #937910I believe that indicates whether or not a file is eligible to be processed byy the infamous Microsoft Indexing Service. Most people have the service turned off since it always appeared to use more resources than benefit derived from search performance boost. Now I think you’d be better off installing one of the many desktop search tools if you need or want to be able quickly and easily search your system.

AskWoody LoungerMarch 30, 2005 at 4:18 pm #938090I wondered if it was anything to do with the indexing service. I have mine turned off and use a couple of other pieces of software, Google Desktop Search and Lookout. It seems that every file has the index flag set, including exes and dlls. The MS indexing service might work better if it din’t index binary files.
