I have one user who has just started using Office 2007. She has tried multiple times to change the default font setting . She changes it to Arial 12 and saves the font. The next time she tries to print an envelope the default font has reverted to +HEADING. This has happened over and over. Is this a known problem and if so does anyone have a remedy?

Several threads on other sites suggest that this problem occurs with documents that have originally been created in an older version of Microsoft Word, not in documents created in Word 2007.

There doesn’t seem to be a solution (yet).

I”m excited. I know it doesn’t take much to excite me, but… I found a solution to this problem. Microsoft definitely has a problem with this one. The Envelope Default button, just doesn’t work; however, here’s a work around. Click on the Sytles dialog box icon (I think that’s what it’s called–the little box in the lower right-hand corner of the styles box on the home ribbon. Select manage styles at the bottom of the styles box. Scroll down until you see the Envelope, Address style. Select it, click on modify, change the font to your desired font, check New documents based on this template and click OK. Your default envelope style has been changed. My people are SO happy with this option. the inability to change envelope default has been a major irritant for them!
