I have a Wordpad icon on my Windows 10 taskbar.

This icon has the following target path: “%ProgramFiles%Windows NTAccessorieswordpad.exe”

I have a file that I use frequently in Wordpad that is located on my computer here: D:documentsletters.rtf

How can I add the letters.rtf path to the icon’s target path so when I click the Wordpad icon, Wordpad opens with the document active?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

      Just add the full path, e.g. “%ProgramFiles%Windows NTAccessorieswordpad.exe” D:documentsletters.rtf

The easy way is to right-click the D:documentsletters.rtf file, point at “Send to” in the pop-up menu, then left-click on “Desktop (create shortcut)”.
