    Hi everyone,

So, I made a great screensaver for our home computer filled with beautiful pictures of our newest addition to the family… It works perfectly if the user remains logged on… However, everyone logs off after using the computer! For the life of me I cannot find a setting that allows me to change the screensaver that activates on the welcome screen (we use icons, not username/pwd boxes). The monitor is set to power down after 20 min… but for that 20 minutes… we’d like to see our pics… What am I missing?

    Any insight would be welcome…

    Thanks, Jenn

It is possible to edit the registry to change the logon screen saver (as it is possible to do most things). But you can use MS Tweak UI to copy the settings for the screen saver in your user profile to be used as logon screen saver.

If you don’t have Tweak UI installed you can find it at: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloa…ppowertoys.mspx%5B/url%5D Just select the right version. A small program that can be useful.

Install and run. Click on Logon to the left, then click Settings. Check what you want to copy, in this case Screen saver, click Copy Now. Close Tweak UI and restart the PC.

Then I don’t know how to reset the setting back to original (logon.scr), if removing the check and press copy (i.e. copy with no check) will work or one has to do a small registry edit.

Oh, yes, there are pages around the net about this: Customize the logon screen wallpaper, screensaver and other settings using Tweak UI

        Argus,

Thanks much for your response… I will give the utility a try… I was hoping not to have to do a registry edit for something that should be easily changed…

        Take care…
