I’m surprised I can’t find a simple ‘remap shortcut keys’ interface in Windows. Surely this has been needed for 30+ years?
My particular preference is to change the Copy and Paste defaults to single key presses, ie from Ctrl+C & Ctrl+V to say F3 & F4 or F8 & F9. I regularly make mistakes with the two finger method, and of course it’s slower anyway.
I’m aware of scripting approaches like AutoHotkey, but that seems overkill for what should be “simple” changes.
Make Unused Keys Useful
I have 4 never-used keys. Is there any way to make one or more of them into key modifier toggles, like say Caps Lock modifies case? For example, press Scroll Lock once and now other keys can have different uses–shortcuts for regular commands like Copy/Paste, launch programs or files, etc.
Lugh.
