    Good evening

I am not sure that CGI is exactly what I mean. I want to illustrate various packing options that I can offer to Customers, all start with a basic box that can be of various size, shape or design, components can then be added for example ice packs (such as you would use on a picnic) to control the tempreture in transit, I would kind of like to make an animation movie of a 3d box to which I could add other articles and then make the finished article look like an animated movie, any ideas please?

    Cheers

    Steve

After a short search around I have found this site which shows exactly what I want to do

      http://www.cool-logistics.com/pre-qualified/index.html%5B/url%5D

Does anybody have an idea of what software they would have used to achieve this?

      Thanks

Not something I’ve ever attempted myself, but the animation appears to be an .avi.

A quick Google for ‘create avi‘ brought up Freeware Home – Graphics and Animation Video at #2 – perhaps there is something there that’s the sort of thing you are looking for?

          Thanks Leif

I have downloaded 2 or 3 things from that page that seem to do the trick

Try blender. It’s touted as: “Blender is the free open source 3D content creation suite, available for all major operating systems under the GNU General Public License.”

I’ve meddled it in a little bit, fairly straightforward, once you get the hang of it. The included and available tutorials are very helpful.

Thanks for the pointer Jeremy, I have downloaded it but I think it is going to need a lot more input from me than I have time for at present, I will however get around to it in the coming long winter months when ‘She who must be obeyed’ (yes dear I’m coming), starts to hibinate earlier as the days get shorter!!

              Cheers

An application similar to Blender, POV-Ray, has received very favourable comments here in past threads. You might want to check it out as well.
