    Hello Everyone,

I think I ask this before, but I have a cell that I need to use to calculate a total and I want to include a letter (e.i. (A) in subscipt to refer to a note). My question is how do I do that within a cell and still have it calculate the total needed. Example would be $500(A) in cell a1. Thanks.

Use a formula in the cell to calculate the total, for example =SUM(B3:B45)

If the subscript is not essential, you can use a custom number format to display the result the way you want:
      – Select the cell with the formula.
      – Select Format | Cells…
      – Activate the Number tab.
      – Select the Custom category
      – Type $0"(A)" in the Type box.
      – Click OK

If you do need the subscript, you cannot do this in a cell with a formula. Put the (A) in the cell next to the cell with the formula, and format it as subscript.
