I regularly empty the Temp Files using the Vista Disc Clean-Up facility. However, now that I have used CCleaner (for cleaning the Reg) I thought that I would try it for cleaning some of the Windows aspects. I ran it for Temp Files only and found masses of them which I have now deleted.
My question is simple … why does the Microsoft Disc Clean-Up facility not get rid of these? Are they different ‘temps?’

Depends on the folders where the ‘temp’ files resided. Microsoft’s disc cleanup will only clean the default Microsoft locations. Ccleaner is most likely programmed to know about other potential locations that various third part programs create.
