I’m a retired rookie, but I do have several of Woody’s Books.
My problem is with the Windows Media Player in conjunction with some SanDisk “memory sticks”.
I have 7 or 8 of The SanDisk “memory Sticks” which I use for data storage and transfer only, their size varies 2GB, 4GB and 8GB.
When the WMP is playing music and I plug in a “Memory Stick” for some other application, WMP trys to sync “something to something”.
I get a jumpy mouse pointer and a jumpy Vista “busy circle”.
Some of the “memory sticks” produce a pop up “Device Setup Box”.
The WMP shows “Drag items here to sync” in the right hand “edit area”.
I want to turn off automatic sync.
I never want anything to sync to anything.
I have cleared the “start sync when device connects” check box.
None of the sync tab or “sync center” options seem to help. Auto start is off.
Microsoft recommended that I “turn off automatic sync”, but didn’t tell me how to do that.
I am not the only one on the Microsoft Forum with “turn off sync” problems.
Help, Help! TYVM!!
