I have a spreadsheet where I cannot see the top 14 rows.

My top row is #15. There are no hidden rows, there is no freeze on the worksheet, or anything else that I can see.

If I do a search for specific data, the find is returned with data from the rows I cannot see, but I cannot arrow up to get to it.

It’s probably something simple, but I cant see it. Help?

Could you attach it (you can delete everything else)?

You wer mistaken in your original post: The rows are hidden.

        Ctrl-a (to select all)
        format – row – unhide

        will display them

thank you. I knew it would be easy. It was the ctrl + a to select all that I could not get. When I tried highlighting all, by clicking the left hand corner, I didnt get the ooption to unhide.

Thanks. it will make my weekend a bit easier

You can unhide rows even if you do not remember the Ctrl + a trick. Click the left hand corner and then use the menu system Format/Row/Unhide. Or, you can use F5 to go to a cell in a hidden row and use the menu system Format/Row/Unhide (this only unhides the current row).

… or mouse up the numbers of the rows up to and including the ‘select all’ square top left, then Format | Rows | Unhide

Note that using the the menu command Format – Row – Unhide returns the row height of the selected cells’ rows to their last setting that was greater than 0, and it only affects those rows where row height = 0. This is significant in some circumstances, like when a prankster sets row heights to 0.5. In this case, the cells are not visible, as if the rows were hidden, but the menu command Format – Row – Unhide will have no effect.

              Thanks for all the responses.

My real problem was that I was looking at the wrong menu to unhide. I dont use Excel much, and I was looking under Window | Hide /unhide instead of Format | Row | Unhide.

A little more patience and attention to detail and less getting stressed as soon as it doesnt work the way that I think it should would probably work.
