• Can't print from Quicken

Suddenly, Quicken won’t print to my Brother HL-5140. No recent software or hardware changes. Test page from printer Properties works fine. Closed and reopened Quicken. No luck. Rebooted computer, no luck.
When I want to print checks Quicken says it is ready to print to Brother. Clicking OK results in silence! No checks printed. Quicken then asks if all checks printed correctly, which is standard question.
Other forums do not provide any help. Mostly HP printers.

Hello Howard – Have you reviewed your File>Printer Setup within Quicken? Are you able to print reports from Quicken?

Review this screen for Check Printing …
      Choose your printer ….

Review this screen for Reports and Graph printing ….
      Choose your printer ….

It may be printing to Brother Fax or some other Brother output.

      Hi HH,

Maybe some Quicken registry keys have been corrupted. Try doing a System Restore using a restore point saved just before the problem started. This should replace most of your registry.

Gerald, you nailed it! Forgot about System Restore, which I haven’t used in a while. It worked and I can now print everything from Quicken. I had to use SR twice. The first failed for some unknown reason, so I went back another two days to perform a successful Restore.

Tim, thanks for your comments. I had previously checked all the print settings and they were correct. I could not print reports or anything from Quicken.
      I love this Lounge.
