TIA for any help on the following. I was tempted to cross-post this at Lounge Matters re loading smilies but believe it is XP related (see post 158908 from DaveA who [along with others] helped me my problems and with site to downloads) original post was 158902)). Bit by bit I’m downloading bits and pieces to get this new pc up to speed (speed? NOT!!).
First issue: as far as loading images (gifs) is concerned – they seem to drop on the screen very slowly like one at a time – lag time for want of a more descriptive term.
Second issue: when I click on smilies do the smilies screen doesn’t open – nothing happens. I’ve looked at MSIE settings, Control Panel, but can’t find any possible misses there. Does anyone have any suggestions/thoughts?

I just noticed this today as well. When I click on the smilies or Tag panel, they do not open. Are they broken??

Are you running a program that defeats pop-ups. If so then this could well stop the Smilies too.

This morning I got on and now the tag panel & smilies are working fine. This only happened the one day. I wasn’t using a pop-up defeater, but Pop-up stopper will prevent you from opening multiple windows if the ‘aggressive’ feature is enabled.
