Can’t edit docs opened in Word trial

Just installed Office 2003 trial version as “upgrade” from Office XP and up[dated online to SP1. Now when I try to open documents created in XP, they open with most commands greyed out — I can’t even copy text to paste into a new document. In fact, I can’t create a new document. (I’ve registered and activated the trial version.) What new “feature” of Office is this? It’s completely useless!

It seems your trial version of Word 2003 thinks it has already expired. I would contact Microsoft about this. Have the registration/activation info ready.
