Can’t delete small line in Word document

I am helping my mum with her nursing registration renewal. The NMC provide template Word documents.

You add rows to the table to meet your requirements.

I’m not able to delete this small line so I can fit the final row with the Totals at the bottom of the table on page 1 and so it all fits on one page.

They are footnotes and you need to delete the footnote numbers in the text to get rid of the footnotes and line.

Just place your cursor to the left of the i and press delete 3 times and they are gone along with the line.

But I cannot delete page 2 even though it is completely blank.

FWIW, I’ve also at times had success getting rid of the blank page below a table by changing the font size in last line to 1 point (1pt).  It depends on how much margin remains down there.

That’s because of the top border they’ve set forces the new page because there is no room on the page after the end of the table.

I’ve attached a copy of the template with the top margin changed to 1″.
