I’ve moved some files around in my Graphics folder, and now I can’t change my Windows wallpaper. This is the folder where the picture was that I was using for wallpaper. I can right-click on the desktop, choose Properties, and on the Desktop tab, the Browse button is grayed out. It’s not a matter of waiting for it to appear, because it never does. I’ve used System Restore to go back to a time when this feature worked, and I’ve moved the file back to where it was when I originally set the wallpaper to it, but with no luck. Any idea what else I can look at or change to get my “wallpaper-switcher” back?

(Incidentally, I’ve downloaded and installed the basic version of WallMaster. This product is able to do the switch for me, but I’d really rather not have yet another process running every time I boot up. I’d rather change my wallpaper manually by going to Display Properties.)

    Thanks,
    Bob

Well, I found my own solution, which I’ll post here in case anyone else has a similar problem. I don’t know how it got changed, but the fix was in a registry key. I had searched the registry before, but missed this one. The key to change is

      HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionPoliciesActiveDesktopNoChangingWallPaper

If the value is 1, you can’t change wallpaper; if it’s 0, you can.
