Cannot navigate ghacks.net on current Fx ESR

I always have used the ESR versions of Fx for many years because of their stability and changes occur once a year not every month or so. Fx ESR is my default browser.

Suddenly, I cannot navigate “ghacks.net” on Fx 91.11.0 ESR. I get a ridiculous “checking your browser” page and Fx gets stuck there.

If I switch to Basilisk browser forked off Fx (with support having ended earlier this year), I can navigate at ghacks website just fine.

Irritating.

FYI,

I just visited Ghacks.net with my Waterfox Classic browser (an old fork of Firefox) and was surprised to encounter Cloudflare’s DDOS Protection page and then passing their checks before been re-directed to the main Ghacks.net webpage. I had to enable Javascript in the browser for the checks to even run beforehand.

This was not the case before today as I did visit them yesterday without encountering any interruptions.

So there must have been a change to their website which caused the Firefox ESR problem.

Maybe drop them a message on the matter if need be.

Wow. Why in the world would ghacks (of all sites) force tracking …hidden too…if you want to visit their site on Firefox? That was the problem.

Until now, I could navigate their site with enhanced tracking protection turned on so why this change where now I have to allow tracking at ghacks.net if I want to visit the site on Fx ESR?

It’s not ghacks, it’s Cloudflare’s DDOS Protection (it uses tracking to detect and prevent DDOS attacks.)
