Cannot Login – HELP!

Hi all, lame question for such a smart group…but here it is. My home computer was left on during the time the password expired, lightning struck and it re-started…low and behold, I am unable to login. No matter what I try, Windows 2000 just won’t start up. I tried everything I can think of (very limited). My question is two-fold: 1) how can I get in to change/delete the login 2) once I am logged in, how can I turn the *&^%$ off so I don’t have to login again?

Have you tried logging in using the “Administrator” account and then changing your user account password from there?

As for not logging in, one could use the “Auto Log in” that is in TweakUI for Windows 2K.

Do I just type in “Administrator” under name, with no password? I tried “Admin”, just never thought of “Administrator”.

When you installed 2K you were asked for a “Administrator” password. You will need to type in Administrator and the password that was used on the install, if you did not do the install and not know the password, you may try the ‘enter key’. Some OEM’s use the ‘enter key as the password.
