    Cannot locate Open Exclusive permission

      When you choose File/Open from the Menu bar, there is a checkbox for exclusive in the right middle portion of the Open window. Is that what you mean?

        no I mean exactly the path from the tools menu I mentioned before. My access book shows a table of all those permissions & Open Exclusive is one of them but it does not appear in that window shown in the books picture or on my pc.

          You have to change the Object Type to Database and then you will see it in permissions.
