I did a graphics driver uninstall/reinstall because the HDMI port on my PC was not auto detecting my Visio TV. Now I cannot find Amd Catalyst Control Center when I right click on the desktop.

If anyone has any insight as to why I cannot find the location of  Amd Catalyst Control Center please chime in. Any help appreciated !

    Thanks,

It may not be included with the driver. It may be a separate application. Download it from the vendor.

On the off chance it’s there and just not started, did you do a reboot after the DL?

Use search box for Catalyst Control Center see if it is actually present.

        Bluetrix,

Did a reboot after Download as require, results were nothing.
Did a search box search, results were nothing. Still no Catalyst Control Center

Display graphics driver;  AMD M880G with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250 is there.

I double checked to make sure I had the correct file using the PC’s serial number CNF0363PHQ in HP’s product search and the File name that came up is: sp50717.exe

Maybe it has something to do with not uninstalling the previous driver correctly?

I don’t have an AMD processor in my HP, so I don’t use CCC.

I read on some blogs while looking at this problem, that if you uninstall the driver first, then install the new driver the problem was solved. However I didn’t feel comfortable posting 5 year old information.

      EDIT to add:

Instead of using HP for your driver, follow AMD procedures.

Sparky, you may know already what I am about to explain here, so I do not know if this may help you or not, but I’ll give it a try anyway:

Have you looked for CCC in Control Panel/Programs and Features? There is a list in there of all the programs with entries in the Windows Registry. I used to see CCC in there. In fact, I would have to go looking for it repeatedly there, because it kept giving me trouble: now and then a movie I was streaming would halt and a pop up will appear telling me that Catalyst had stopped working. That was quite a while ago though, and that has not happened again since I stopped using IE11 and Silverlight and started using FireFox, Waterfox and Chrome, all three with HTML5 streaming software.

But back then, I could go to Control Panel/Programs and Features and see this thing listed in there among many others. Right clicking on its icon  would open a box with two choices: “Repair” or “Uninstall.” In your case, probably “Repair” should be the first thing to try.

      Hope this helps.

Radeon Settings has replaced CCC, I ‘think’ the driver you showed the link for should be CCC based but if you did an autoupdate (or perhaps Windows did it for you) you may have ended up with the newer version, what is the date of the driver installed? I no longer have a desktop link to my adapter settings and must go to (for W10) Start>AMD>AMD SETTINGS to get the Radeon Settings. There seems to be less understandable flexibility in the “new and improved” Radeon Settings over the CCC.
You may need to do a complete uninstall of AMD display s/w with the AMD tool and prohibit Windows from doing Driver updates as well as Auto update in CCC.
Just another trend of user unfriendly GUI geared towards Gamers. 🥺

Just because you don't know where you are going doesn't mean any road will get you there.

        Q. What is the date of the driver installed?
Oct 29, 2010, It is the latest driver. The driver came from the vendor HP.

You may need to do a complete uninstall of AMD display s/w with the AMD tool.
I think that is what I will have to do.

Does your HDMI port auto detect your Visio TV now?

For the Amd Catalyst Control Center, go to http://www.belarc.com, scroll down to Software Versions and Usage
      — If it’s listed in there, click on the “marker” to the left and you will be brought to its location.
