Can VB 6 co-exist with VisualStudio 2003 (VB 6, Visual Studio 2003)

If I install VB 6.0 on the same workstation as VisualStudio 2003 do you think it would work? Or, should I partition the drive and install VB 6.0 in a separate area to be safe? I’m concerned about dll crashes etc.

VB 6 and VS .NET co-habitate quite well.
Indeed, MSFT even recommends that both be installed as that may facilitate migrating some VB 6 code to VB .NET.

As I recall, the readme file discusses te pros/cons of installing both.

I’ve not run ionto any problems (yet).

I can corroborate what Howard has said.

On our site, we have .Net code invokind VB6 executrables without problems. That did take a little bit of working out, but now that it’s settled in, it’s working well.

As with other Microsoft products (*cough*Office*cough*) I would recommend installing multiple versions from Oldest to Newest, rather than trying to install an older version alongside a much newer version.

If you already have the newer versions installed you may want to reinstall after installing the older version.

You better get something to tame that cough, or wear a mask when you post.

There are problems that can occur if th ecritters are installed in thewrong order.
